Extreme Operating Procedure
AMA is currently experiencing higher than normal call volume for roadside assistance, in some areas of the province. As a result, battery testing and replacement have been temporarily suspended in those areas. Check our wait time map for more information about wait times and battery service in your area.
Every member is important to us so we have the following options for members that require battery service in areas where battery testing and replacement has been suspended.
- If your vehicle is not drivable, we will come to you and provide you with a boost or tow. Request roadside assistance or call us at 1-800-222-4357.
- If your vehicle is drivable, CAA battery testing and replacement services are available at Lube City locations at the same member-exclusive battery pricing you’d get from AMA and includes free installation and disposal of your old battery. You will also get the same industry leading 6 year warranty. Please contact Lube City to ensure they have the type of battery your vehicle requires. Lubecity.ca
- Some vehicles have hard to install batteries, which must be replaced at one of our specialized Approved Auto Repair Services facilities. There is a $60 (+GST) charge for installation and a $20 (+GST) charge for registration and/or reset. Please call ahead for appointment availability and to ensure your type of battery is serviceable.
You can also receive a tow or boost from a private (non-AMA) company, and request reimbursement for roadside assistance (reimbursement rates vary).
Thank You For Your Patience
We’re working hard to rescue members as safely and efficiently as possible.
