Aging Drivers

Our Aging Driver programs help our members stay behind the wheel for as long as safely possible. When it’s time to reduce or retire from driving, we can help seniors maintain their independence.

Distracted Driving

Distracted Driving isn’t just against the law, it’s against common sense. We’re asking Albertans, “What are you doing behind the wheel?” and encouraging you to spread the word and take the pledge.

Driver Training

We want you to get around safely, whether you travel on four wheels, two wheels, or your own two feet. By sharing the road with those around you, avoiding distractions, reducing speed, and preventing impaired driving, we can reduce collisions and make sure that everyone gets where they are going safely.

Impaired Driving

Impaired Driving continues to take a tragic toll on Alberta families. That’s why we’re advocating for an enhanced strategy to prevent impaired driving and working to educate impaired drivers to make better choices. This year, we’re rewarding sober drivers at Check Stops with junior hockey tickets or TaxiDollars, good with local taxi companies.

Give Us Room to Work

Give Us Room to Work reminds us that no matter where we work, we all want to get home safely at the end of the day. This educational program teaches how to safely pass emergency vehicles stopped on the side of the road, as well as how to safely drive through a construction site.

AMA School Safety Patrol

Since 1937, generations of School Safety patrollers have kept Albertans safe – there’s even a chance that you used to be one yourself. Funded and coordinated by the Alberta Motor Association, our School Safety Patrol program has since grown to include 500 schools.

Today, close to 16,000 grade five and six students and their teachers have committed to helping keep their fellow students safe on their way to and from school.

Green Driving

In Alberta, we love to drive. And with over 31,000 km of highways, there’s a lot for us to see. But our love of putting the rubber to the road doesn’t mean we have to sacrifice our love for the environment – it is possible to balance the two. That’s why we support initiatives for achieving sustainable mobility and providing education about green driving.
