Leading the Way

AMA operates as a member-run organization, meaning that people like you help guide every decision we make. Our President and CEO reports to a Board of Governors, and that Board is made up of members from across the province. It’s about staying true to our roots as Albertans serving Albertans, with the needs of our members acting as our compass.

Regional Representation

We want to make sure voices from across the province are represented on our Board, which is why AMA is divided into six geographic regions: Calgary, Edmonton, Grande Prairie, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat and Red Deer. Each region has its own Regional Advisory Board, made up of members chosen from among the membership.

Governance & Oversight

The Chair of each Regional Advisory Board, plus an additional 10 regional members-at-large, form the AMA’s provincial Board of Governors, which provides global oversight of AMA. Five of those members make up the Association’s Governance Committee, who serve as our Board executive.

Our Board Members

AMA Board members come from all backgrounds and areas of expertise and share a common goal of helping AMA members live their best lives.
