Have you ever walked into a room and forgotten what you needed? Driven away with a coffee cup on your car’s roof? Felt that pang of dread when you realized your smartphone was left – gasp – at home? We can all relate to forgetfulness because, frankly, there’s just too darn much to remember! The good news is that renewing your vehicle registration doesn’t have to be one of them.
Using AMA’s Vehicle Registration Auto-Renew service, members can sign up to have their registration automatically renewed every year. Simply add a valid Visa or MasterCard to the Online Account section of AMA’s website, or visit us in one of our centres, and we’ll do the remembering for you! We’ll even contact you before your registration’s expiration date, just to ensure all tickets are paid up, your address is the same, and your payment information hasn’t changed.
The service is the first of its kind in Canada and the best part is we’ll mail you your registration stickers, so you don’t even have to leave your house to get the job done. If you’re not sure you want that kind of commitment, you can also sign up for a courtesy email, text or phone call reminder (your choice). We’ll reach out and remind you when your vehicle is about to expire and you can take care of the renewal at any registry office.
Earlier this year, the Alberta Government made the decision to stop mailing renewal notices to Albertans. This month, the government began robocalling 3.7 million Albertans (everyone with a car, driver’s licence or provincial I.D.) to remind them of the change, as some motorists have been caught unaware – and paid the price in hefty fines. At AMA, we want to make sure that never happens to our members. After all, you’re practically family.
