On September 11, Edmonton’s Alberta Avenue kicks off the 10th annual Kaleido Family Arts Festival, celebrating the cultural diversity of this neighbourhood. Over the next two days, Polish dancers, First Nations fire and hoop performers, Guyanese drummers and Vietnamese performers share the stage. Huge art installations inspire, workshops will be plentiful and interactive, and musicians like Zerbin will entertain. Watch for the Firefly Theatre & Circus teaming up with the National Stiltwalkers of Canada to treat festival-goers to an aerial version of The Ugly Duckling. “There’s something special about the interconnectedness,” says Christy Morin, artistic director of the festival.
