Student success! Paige Knight graduated from MacEwan University’s Insurance and Risk Management Program in 2014. She started as an intern with our Claims team in Edmonton and is now a full-time auto adjuster.
We’re all about school spirit and helping students take the first steps toward exciting insurance careers.
With the goal of connecting with students and sharing our passion for insurance, we partner with the University of Alberta, University of Lethbridge and MacEwan University.
We sponsor events, meet plenty of students and create great job opportunities for them. Some fill temporary summer positions, while others land permanent jobs with us. They get insurance experience and develop skills they’ll use at AMA or wherever their careers take them.
We get to flex our mentorship muscles and influence the next generation of insurance leaders. The students bring creativity and enthusiasm to the table and teach us a thing or two along the way.
What do the students do at AMA Insurance?
They work in Claims, Underwriting, Human Resources, IT, Marketing and Communications, and as insurance advisors in our contact centres. Some are with us as part of their school’s co-op program to earn credit through a work placement. Most are working toward their Commerce or Management degrees at U of A and U of L, while the MacEwan students are enrolled in their school’s Insurance and Risk Management Program.
Since 2011, AMA Insurance has employed more than 50 post-secondary students from our partner schools.
