Deb Fong, one of our Travel Specialists at AMA, has only been to Walt Disney World Resort 20 times — no big deal. So it’s a sure bet that her Disney tips are coming from a real place of experience on the subject, and will help you save valuable time when you make your way through the four Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks.

Best Ways to Avoid Lineups
There are many ways to save time on your Walt Disney World Resort vacation; buying tickets before you go, staying at a Disney Resort hotel, and taking advantage of Rider Switch. Buy your tickets before you go and take advantage of Disney FastPass+ service. Disney FastPass+ service lets you reserve access to select Disney FastPass+ attractions and entertainment experiences before you even leave home, so you can relax and enjoy every moment.* Plus, guests who stay at select Walt Disney World Resort hotels can take advantage of Extra Magic Hours. Each day one of the Theme Parks opens an hour early or stays open up to two hours extra after regular Park hours so you can enjoy select attractions (valid Theme Park admission and Walt Disney World Resort ID are required). It gives you plenty of time to pace yourself and fully enjoy the Parks, while the lines are shorter and the weather is cooler. Also, look for Rider Switch – Guests are allowed to take turns waiting with youngsters too young or too small to ride a certain attraction, then “switch” with another adult Guest from their party to experience the ride without standing in line twice.

Best Nighttime Show
Head to Disney’s Hollywood Studios for Fantasmic! a 30-minute fireworks and water show, with all your favourite Disney heroes, princesses and villains. To avoid lining up for the show, you can purchase a dining package at one of three restaurants and receive designated seating.

Best Spots to Cool Off
There’s no better way to get wet than taking a ride on Splash Mountain at Magic Kingdom Park. Grab a seat at the front and get ready to plunge five storeys down a watery track. Over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, get wet again on Kali River Rapids – a river raft ride that features gurgling geysers, jetting water and two splashdowns.

Best Baby and Tots Service
With all the walking you’ll be doing, you’re going to want to travel light. You can buy disposable diapers, pull-on rubber pants, and even teethers at Disney’s Baby Care Centers. Moms will appreciate the private nursing rooms and not having to bring along a load of baby supplies to the Parks (so long bulky diaper bag).

Best Ride for Speed Demons
Rock music and screaming speed collide at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. As you zoom down 1,037 metres of track, travelling with the g-force of an F-14 fighter jet, your car’s stereo system pumps out the tunes.

Best Venue for Grown-Up Time
When the sun goes down, head to Jellyrolls on Disney’s BoardWalk, an entertainment, dining, and shopping area built to look like Atlantic City in the 1920s. Jellyrolls features dueling pianists performing a huge repertoire of hits.

Best Munchies
At Walt Disney World Resort, America’s ever-present corn dog takes second billing to jumbo turkey legs. These massive drumsticks are cured with sugar and salt, and slow-roasted until the meat practically falls off the bone. Disney sells more than 1.6 million legs a year at food carts all over the Theme Parks.

Now that you’re loaded with all these great tips, you’re ready to make the most of your time at the Walt Disney World Resort.
